Spanish tax fraud case against Sean Connery’s wife Micheline Roquebrune

Sean Connery’s wife, Micheline Roquebrune, could be fined 23.5 million euros for tax fraud in Spain.

The 91-year-old wife of famous actor Sean Connery, who recently passed away, Micheline Roquebrune. She faces a fine of 23.5 million euros for alleged tax fraud in Spain.

Roquebrune calling the case allegations ‘absurd’. Spanish officials stated that an official request sent to the wife of the famous actor to deliver the indictment. However, argued that no response received.

Roquebrune denied allegations that the couple involved in a fraud related to the sale of their home in Marbella in a 2016 case where Connery’s lawyers received a prison sentence.

Spanish officials insist that the long-standing trial ‘has not disappeared’. Stated that they wanted to report the indictment to Roquebrune so that the hearing can be held.

They were told Connery in 2014 that he would not be prosecuted for irregularity in the 1999 home sale. The house was demolished to make room for 70 apartments, despite the rules that allowed only five apartments to be built. At the time, in addition to the actor’s lawyers, the mayor of Marbella and six councilors were also jailed for fraud.

A judge ruled that the French-born Roquebrune should be tried. If found guilty of tax fraud, she could face a large fine.
