American actress Kate Hudson, who raised three children from three different fathers, talked about the difficulties she faced during the pandemic.
Rani Rose, 2 years old from her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, 9-year-old Bingham from ex-fiancee Matt Bellamy, and Kate Hudson, 17-year-old Ryder from ex-husband Chris Robinson, spoke to Sunday Today about parenting.
The 41-year-old actress said, “There is more than one father, I have children everywhere … I actually want to say ‘Yes, it’s wonderful and … we take care of it’ or something, but the truth is; there are also wonderful days, days where I should remind myself to thank myself.
Golden Globe winner Hudson said, “If I think about a million years, I wouldn’t think I’d spend a year in one place. When you have so many kids, sometimes you hide in your bathroom, ‘Please, please get me out of here!’ there are moments you say”.
Hudson, who has been with musician Fujikawa since 2018, said parenting was her number one priority during isolation.
The actress added, “All of my really high expectations in my life are about my kids. And it’s about family matters and all that. Other than that, it’s as if I let it go. I vacuum my hair, then it goes away and I hope for the best.”
Raised by her mother, Goldie Hawn and her stepfather, Kurt Russell, the actress admitted that she wanted to reconnect with her biological father, musician Bill Hudson, and described their distance from each other as a “41-year affair”:
I have a beautiful mother. I have a stepfather stepping in and playing a big, huge role in understanding what it is like to have a reliable father figure in our lives. But this does not eliminate the fact that we do not know our father.
Hudson then said, “I think as we go through this process … I want to look at my father and say, ‘You know, love has never gone anywhere. No matter how troubles go, love has always been there’ or something.” sometimes wants to hear “
