Construction started again in Nord Stream 2 project

It is reported that the Fortuna pipe-laying vessel, which was included in the sanction list by the US Treasury Department, has resumed work in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 Natural Gas Pipeline project.

Nord Stream 2 AG, the executive firm of the Nord Stream 2 project, said that the Fortuna ship resumed Nord Stream 2 construction in Danish waters.

Russian energy company Gazprom said on January 19 that the Nord Stream 2 Natural Gas Pipeline project is at risk of being suspended or canceled due to difficulties such as political pressure.

Construction of the project was halted in December 2019, following “sanctions threats” from the US.
