The online shopping platform introduced the electric vehicle to be used by the Amazon shipping department.

The US-based e-commerce platform has unveiled its Amazon electric vehicle. The company will use electric minibus models for cargo service.

The company announced in February that it had privately ordered a vehicle from the electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian.

Amazon plans to use 10 thousand electric vehicles on the roads by 2020 and 100 thousand electric vehicles by 2030. The company, which delivered 20 percent of each of its own packages in 2019, 1 out of 5 orders, started to deliver 50 percent of its own packages in 2020.

The company underlined that its ultimate goal is to be carbon neutral by 2040.
