Swiss flier to the USA has to turn back shortly after takeoff
Swiss flight LX8 took off from Zurich at 2 p.m. towards the USA. Destination: the metropolis of Chicago. But just when the plane had passed England, the plane turned back – back to Switzerland.
At first, the Swiss told BLICK that the landing permit was withdrawn because of Corona. Now the airline says: “The return to Zurich has a technical background.
Damage to the tires was suspected. “But the tire pressure is OK, as has now been determined,” said Swiss spokeswoman Karin Müller. The passengers would now be put on a new plane. The plane would be able to take off towards the USA at around 9:30 p.m.
How it came to an information breakdown is unclear. The airline promises to do this.
