Pakistan: India killed 18 innocent Kashmiris in 3 weeks

Zahid Hafez Cavdri, Spokesperson of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He reported that Indian troops killed at least 18 Kashmiris in 3 weeks and injured over 40.

Cavdri told reporters. He stated that Indian troops killed 5 innocent Kashmiri youths in Jammu Kashmir in the last few days. Noting that between the beginning of October and the 21st of October, 18 Kashmiris killed by Indian security forces. He noted that over 40 people also injured.

Cavdri, United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet’s restrictions on civil society organizations in India. He also referred to the activists’ concerns about their arrest.

In his written statement on 20 October, Bachelet, activist opposing the change in the “Citizenship Law” in India that excludes Muslims. Due to mass protests by human rights defenders, especially earlier this year. He noted that he has been under pressure in recent days and more than 1500 people related to the protests have been arrested.

This special status included citizenship law that did not allow foreigners to settle in the area and own property.

However, India has been a part of the constitution that has privileged Jammu Kashmir for more than half a century. It canceled its 370th article on 5 August 2019. It abolished the special status structure of the region and divided the state into two. On October 31, 2019, the state was officially divided into two regions of the center, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh with “Union Territory” status.

After the verdict, Indian security forces intensified the public order operations and pressure on the people in Jammu Kashmir.
