From Javicia Leslie, who made history as the first black woman to portray the character of Batwoman. The first formal costume photo came. In the new Batwoman look, Leslie’s black hair is emphasized by drawing attention to her Afro hair.
33-year-old American actress. She took over the role of Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose, a few months ago.
Leslie shares her batwoman costume photos on her Instagram account. “I felt it was important for the audience to understand from the silhouette that Batwoman is a black girl. Properly shaped costume. We certainly did it with beautiful Afro hair.”
Noticeable changes in the costume include naturally curly hair with red shades. A new headgear with red gloves and shorter boots, greater visual depth. There is a new design with new materials to create a stronger silhouette.
Leslie gives life to a new character named Ryan Wilder who transforms into Batwoman in the series. She doesn’t look like her character Kate Kane (played by Ruby Rose), who previously wore a bat suit. The character is cute, messy, a little dumb and untamed.
