Perence Shiri, Minister of Agriculture in Zimbabwe, one of the South African countries, died from the new type of corona virus (Covid-19). Minister Shiri’s driver also died from the virus.
According to reports in the national press, Shiri, 65, died in the hospital where he was treated for Covid-19 disease.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa shared on his Twitter account,
“I am deeply sad for the death of my longtime friend, Minister of Agriculture, retired Major General Perrence Shiri.
Shiri was a true patriot who devoted his life to the freedom, independence and service of his country. ” Shiri’s driver also died from Covid-19 a few days ago.
There have been 2,817 Covid-19 incidents in the country so far, 40 people have died.
