Russia has released images of one of the biggest nuclear explosions the world has ever seen.
Russia has released images of the ‘Tsar Bomb’. The images published by the country’s nuclear department, ROSATOM.
The nuclear bomb detonated on the Island of Severny, near the Arctic Ocean, on October 30, 1961. The bomb weighing 50 million tons was reported to be 3,333 times stronger than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
As a result of the explosion, the mass of cloud rising in the form of a mushroom spread 67 km wide.
While the shock waves caused by the explosion caused an earthquake of magnitude 5, the emitted radiation reached Norway.
