Winston Groom dies, author of the Forrest Gump novel

Winston Groom, the author of the Forrest Gump novel, reportedly died at the age of 77.

Karin Wilson, Mayor of Fairhope, Alabama, USA. She announced that Winston Groom had died in the southern Alabama town.

Wilson stated that her family had notified her of the death of the famous 77-year-old writer Groom on Wednesday.

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said they lost one of the state’s most talented writers. He noted that they will remember Groom as the creator of the Forrest Gump character.

Forrest Gump, which was shot under the same name based on the author’s novel, won six Oscars in 1994.

Although Groom is known for “Forrest Gump”, he wrote 16 novels based on real events, including the American civil war.

His book Conversations with the Enemy, following a sailor during the Vietnam War. He became a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1984.
