Director Eugene Green attended the San Sebastian Film Festival with the movie Atarrabi Mikelat. He was expelled for refusing to wear a mask.

San Sebastian Film Festival starting on September 18, continues in an eventful way. French-American director Eugene Green refused to wear masks that are mandatory due to the coronavirus during the festival.

The authorities then had to fire Green from the festival.

French director Eugene Green directing productions such as La Sapienza, La Monde Vivant, En Attendant Les Barbares. He was expelled from the San Sebastian Film Festival for safety reasons.

The director, who participated in the festival with the movie Atarrabi & Mikelats, refused to wear masks that are mandatory to wear within the scope of coronavirus measures.

The authorities then had to kick Green out of the festival.

The following official statement came from the San Sebastian Film Festival:

“To director Eugene Green, the festival team asked him to wear a mask five times and wear the mask correctly. Eventually, because the director refused to cooperate, the festival management told him to leave the cinema. Two Basque police informed him that the complaint would be processed and that he could be fined for it.”

By taking coronavirus measures, many festivals around the world continue to be held in physical conditions.

The San Sebastian Film Festival, held in San Sebastian, Spain, will continue until September 26th.
