US administration suspends its briefings to Congress on election security

Ratcliffe; They stopped their briefings on election security to the Congress. Announced that from now on they will only make written notices.

National Intelligence Director (DNI) John Ratcliffe, according to US media reports based on Congressional sources.

He sent a letter to the Senate and the House of Representatives officials on Friday, announcing his decision.

Ratcliffe, President Donald Trump brought to the DNI position in May.

He noted that some of the members of the congress concerned that they would leak this confidential information to the media right after the briefings.

Democratic Congress members strongly opposed the decision in question, that while asking their questions face to face to the relevant intelligence officials, they could no longer ask their questions and this was unacceptable.
