Lance Formula 1 Grand Prix from pole position BWT DHL Turkish Point Racing team has achieved by Stroll. Stroll achieved the first pole position of his career in Istanbul.

DHL Turkey in the qualifying round of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Canadian Lance Stroll the first team from Point Racing. Formula 1 World Championship, the 14th leg of the qualifying round of the Turkish Grand Prix held at the 5.3-kilometer Intercity Istanbul Park Circuit.

Pilots had difficulty in controlling vehicles on slippery ground due to the effect of cold and rain in qualifying rounds as in the third training rounds. In the first session, red flags were waved due to heavy rain and the race was stopped for 45 minutes.

Racing Point team preferred mid-level transition tire instead of heavy rain tire, determined the fate of the qualifying rounds.

Lance Stroll, 22-year-old driver of Racing Point, won the first pocket in the qualifying rounds with 1 minute 47.765 seconds. Stroll achieved the first “pole” position of his career in Istanbul.

Aiming to reach the seventh championship of his career in Istanbul, Mercedes’ British pilot Lewis Hamilton came 6th in the qualifying rounds with a time of 1.52.560.
