In the announcement published in the official newspaper,
“The Queen ordered the annulment and dissolution of Harvey Weinstein’s Honorary Leadership of Excellence in the British Empire on 29 January 2004”
Weinstein 68, sentenced to 23 years in prison for multiple rape and sexual harassment by a court decision on February 24.
After the allegations against Weinstein were exposed, women reported their sexual harassment on social media. Introduction with the hashtag “#meetoo” turned into a worldwide backlash and started the “#meetoo” movement.
