Thomas Jefferson Byrd, the star of the Spike Lee movies, died after being shot in Atlanta.

In a statement made by the police, it was stated that they found the 70-year-old actor shot in the back several times.

Health officials stated that Byrd died at the scene.

Byrd appeared before the audience in Lee’s movies Clockers Chi-Raq, Bamboozled, He Got Game, and Da Sweet Blood of Jesus.
