Real Madrid, the most successful of the Champions League

Spanish club Real Madrid holds the title of the most successful team of the UEFA Champions League, where the new season will start tomorrow, with 13 cups.

Real Madrid was by far the most successful team in the history of the tournament by bringing the most important cup of European football at club level to its museum in 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Madrid team lost the field in the final matches in 1962, 1964 and 1981.

Last season, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reached the final for the first time in its history, bringing the number of teams to the finals in the UEFA Champions League to 41. 22 clubs succeeded in bringing the cup to its museum.

Real Madrid 13, Milan 7, Bayern Munich and Liverpool 6 each, Barcelona 5, Ajax 4, Manchester United and Inter 3 each, Benfica, Juventus, Nottingham Forest and Porto 2 each, Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, Celtic, Red Star, Feyenoord, Hamburg, Olympique Marseille, PSV, Steaua Bucharest and Chelsea won once each.

The tournament, which previously held as the European Champion Clubs Cup and named the UEFA Champions League in the 1992-93 season, has won the most Spanish teams so far.

In the championship, where Spanish teams won 18 times, British teams reached 13, Italians 12, Germans 8, Dutch teams 6, Portuguese representatives 4, French, Romanian, Scottish and Yugoslav clubs each reached a happy ending.
