Princess Caroline: It’s hard to be a woman, even if you’re a princess

Grace Kelly in an interview with former Monaco Prince Rainier’s eldest daughter, Princess Caroline of Hanover, (63) with her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi (34). She stated that she came from a generation where problems related to women’s rights were very active.

“I remember my mother telling me in good faith, ‘You don’t need to go to school. A professor at the university also scolded me, saying ‘You are taking the place of a student who deserves this place’ for being royal. I always wanted to do better than the boys in school or sports. ”

Princess Caroline added that the Palace of Monaco as a child did not like the French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre and her lover, feminist writer Simone de Beauvoir. Stating that being a woman is “not an easy thing,” Charlotte said, “With the term equality, the sacrifices women make while having both a career and a child are seen less now”.

Princess Caroline, who did her secondary education at St Mary Ascot school in France. She studied philosophy, child psychology, and biology at the Sorbonne University. Grace Kelly died in 1982, and Prince Rainier in 2005.

Princess Caroline for her commitment to charity and the arts. Elected as UNESCO goodwill ambassador on 2 December 2003. She continued her charity activities as the director of Princess Grace Foundation.

Princess Caroline made her first marriage on June 29, 1978 at the age of 21. She did it with the French businessperson banker Phillippe Junot. This marriage ended two years later on October 9, 1980.
