It was announced that master actress Olivia de Havilland died in her home in Paris. Before his death, Havilland was the oldest player in life to have won an Oscar award.

Born in 1916 in Tokyo, the British actress has been in nearly 50 films for more than 50 years.

Olivia de Havilland was especially known for her role in the 1939 film Gone with the Wind and in this movie she played Melanie Hamilton as an assistant actress.

Havilland, who was first nominated for an Oscar for a total of five times with this film, won twice this award.
