New measures taken to combat the pandemic in Germany

German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for “national efforts” to combat the new type of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic altogether.

Merkel announced the new measures taken in the fight against Covid-19 after a video conference with the state prime ministers. Merkel stated that they had a difficult day in political decision making today. “I call on my citizens to ‘make a national effort’ to combat Covid-19. We had to find a way not to declare a ‘health emergency’. The measures we take today can be a little harsh, but these are the necessary measures to return to our normal life in December. ”

Chancellor Merkel, stating that there will be partial restrictions for 4 weeks from 2 November. “If the virus continues to increase at this pace, the health system will be in trouble. We had to take action to avoid this.”

The German Prime Minister also underlined that it could not be determined where 75 percent of the infected virus originated.

Merkel stated that businesses will supported at the rate of 75 percent of their turnover and that an additional allowance of 10 billion Euros will be allocated for this.

Merkel asked citizens to avoid relatives or tourist travel, strictly observing the distance rule and applying minimum contact.

Stating that they have not yet imposed any restrictions on religious services, Merkel said that they once again emphasized the observance of hygiene rules in places of worship.

Merkel said, “We do not have a situation like in March, so we did not take drastic measures about worship. But the rule of distance, hygiene is very important as always.”

The German Chancellor pointed out that the most important positive decision taken at today’s meeting was to keep schools and daycare facilities open.

DECISIONS TAKEN

According to the new measures taken in Germany, theaters, opera and concert halls will remain closed.

Gyms, cinemas, entertainment areas, swimming pools will not be available. Entertainment parties will be canceled in all public places.

Restaurants, bars and pubs will remain closed, but takeaways will be available from restaurants.

Body cleaning and care salons, cosmetic and massage salons, tattooists will completely closed, and brothel-like places will be closed.

The stores will be able to accept customers for 1 person per 10 square meters. Meeting of members of more than two households will be prohibited.

The new measures will begin on 2 November and last until the end of the month.
