Nelson Mandela’s daughter died

Zindzi Mandela, the youngest daughter of South Africa’s first black leader Nelson Mandela, died at the age of 59.

It was stated that the sixth child and youngest daughter of South Africa’s first black president, Nelson Mandela, Zindzi Mandela died in hospital the morning at Johannesburg.

No explanation has yet been given about the cause of death of the woman of 59 years.

Born from Nelson Mandela’s second wife, Winnie Madikizela, Zindzi Mandela was the ambassador of South Africa in Denmark before her death and was also known for her politician activist struggles against the apartheid system in Africa.

“BORN LEADER, A FEARLESS ACTIONER”

South Afirka President Cyril Ramaphosa said after Mandela’s death, “I wish deep condolences to the Mandela family for the death of a fearless political activist, born leader. We are very sad for the loss that occurred just a few days before the world celebrated the birthday of the great Nelson Mandela ”.

Zindzi Mandela was sent to Denmark in 2015 and was appointed as the mission head of South Africa’s Liberia Monrovia.

“Zindzi will be remembered not only as the daughter of our fighting hero, but as a fighting hero on her own,” said South Africa’s Minister for International Affairs Naledi Pandor.

THREATENED BY THE APARTHEID REGIME

Vumani Mkhize of the BBC said that Zindzi Mandela grew up at the peak of the anti-apartheid struggle and was threatened by the apartheid regime for years with her sister Zenani and her mother Winnie when her father was imprisoned on Robben Island.

However, at a public meeting held in February 1985, Zindzi Mandela was a family member who read that then President PW Botha refused Nelson Mandela’s request for release from prison.

On the other hand, currently only two of Nelson Mandela’s six children are still alive: Zindzi’s sister Zenani Dlamini; and Pumla Makaziwe Mandela, whose daughter from her first marriage to Evelyn Mase.
