Most deaths in the last 150 years in Sweden

In Sweden, where herd immunity is preferred, 51,405 people died in the first six months of 2020.
This number means the highest number of deaths in the country in 150 years.

When the SARS-like new type of coronavirus pandemic that started in China turned into a pandemic, Sweden decided to pursue a different struggle policy.

According to this policy called herd immunity, measures for Covid-19 would not be taken in the country and the society would be expected to develop immunity over time.

Sweden rose to the top of the world in death rate. Due to the casualties caused by Covid-19 in the country, the most deaths in the last 150 years occurred in the first six months of 2020.

According to the data announced in the country, 51,405 people died in the first six months.

More than 55,000 people died in the famine 150 years ago. In Sweden, which has a population of over 10 million, 85 thousand corona virus cases were seen, while 5 thousand 802 deaths occurred.

Sweden is the sixth country with the highest casualty rate, with 574 deaths per million.

Director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci also warned in a statement last month that if Covid-19 acts like other types of corona viruses, immunity will not be long-term.
