A “rape investigation” has launched against Gerald Marie, former boss of Elite Models, a worldwide modeling agency based in France.
The investigation in France opened after a complaint by a former BBC reporter and three former models allegedly raped Marie.
Gerald Marie’s ex-spouse, one-time supermodel Linda Evangelista (55) also declared her support for the women who made the accusation. Supermodel married to Marie between 1987 and 1993.
“When I heard the victims’ complaint, based on my experience, I believed they telling the truth. These are wounds that will never heal. I admire the courage and strength of the speaking victims.”
Gerald Marie, former boss of Elite Models, is accused of raping models Carre Otis, Jill Dodd and Ebba Karlsson in the 1980s and 1990s, between the ages of 17 and 20.
Marie was then European president of Elite, representing iconic models such as Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer. Marie’s lawyers, on the other hand, deny the charges.
