The number of people died as a result of hurricane Laura, was effective in the state of Louisiana  rose to 6. Hurricane left at least 867 thousand homes and businesses without electricity.

The loss of life is increasing as a result of hurricane Laura striking the state of Louisiana at category 4.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards announced that the number of hurricane deaths in the state rose to 6.

“This was the most powerful hurricane to land in Louisiana. The hurricane is likely to cause damage and life-threatening conditions,” Edwards said.

Governor Edwards stated that there will be accommodation for those who cannot stay in their homes later.

He said that Laura was even stronger than Hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans in 2005 and killed more than 1,800 people.

4 of those lost their lives lost their lives as a result of the trees falling on the houses.

Approximately 1,500 people, including the National Guard units, were reported to be involved in rescue and cleanup operations.

Hurricane Laura wreaked havoc where it hit, while at least 867,000 homes and businesses remained without electricity in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.

It warned that hurricane could also cause a tornado in the states of Tennessee and Arkansas.
