Legendary Indian actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who caught the Coronavirus, died.

The world famous legendary Indian actor Soumitra Chatterjee died at the age of 85 after defeating the coronavirus. The famous actor, who has been treated at Belle Vue Hospital in Calcutta, India since October 6, passed away yesterday.

In the statement made by the hospital management, It was stated that the actor succumbed to corona virus complications, despite all the efforts of the 15-person healthcare team composed of the best doctors from West Bengal.

Chatterjee has packed 300 films in his 60-year film career. He was also a poet, playwright, and theater actor. Between 1959 and 1990, he appeared in 14 films of the Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray. The famous actor received the Dada Saheb Phalke, India’s highest cinema honors award in 2011.
