Human’s oldest friend dogs

A DNA study revealed that dogs are human’s oldest animal friend. According to the research, the domestication of dogs dates back to 11 thousand years ago.

DNA research has shown that dogs can not only be humans’ best friend, but also one of the oldest friends in the animal kingdom. Revealed that the domestication of dogs can be traced back 11,000 years ago towards the end of the last Ice Age.

Findings confirming that dogs were domesticated much earlier than any known breed. Investigation of the entire genomes of 27 canine remains linked to various ancient cultures by an international team. It was obtained as a result of comparing both with each other and with modern dogs.

“While all humans are still hunter-gatherers, in reality a wild carnivore is taming the much feared wolves in many parts of the world,” says Dr. Pontus Skoglund. The question is why did people do this? How did that happen? Ultimately that’s what we care about.”

“Dogs are our oldest and closest animal friend,” says Greger Larson, another member of the team. The DNA of dogs that lived in ancient times shows how long our common history goes back. Ultimately it will also help us understand where and when this deep relationship started.”
