First proof of WHO’s mosquito theory (Coronavirus research)

WHO’s theory that mosquitoes will not transmit the corona virus has been proven in a US study. The research is the first evidence that mosquitoes do not infect the virus.

A study in the USA confirmed that the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) cannot be transmitted to humans through mosquitoes.

Details of the research conducted by the University of Kansas Biosafety Research Institute Director Stephen Higgs and colleagues with the staff of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine were published in the journal “Scientific Reports”.

The study, the first experimental study on mosquitoes’ ability to infect Covid-19, found that the new type of corona virus cannot reproduce in 3 common types of mosquitoes called “Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus and Culex quinquefasciatus”, so the virus cannot be transmitted from mosquitoes to humans.

A FIRST IN THE WORLD

“Although our World Health Organization has stated that mosquitoes cannot infect the virus, our study made a first to provide comprehensive data supporting this theory,” said Higgs.

At the Biosafety Research Institute, it is stated that research has also been conducted on other animal pathogens transmitted from humans to animals, including Rift Valley fever and Japanese encephalitis.
