Economic growth in China accelerated in the third quarter of the year with 4.9 percent compared to the previous quarter, but remained below expectations.

The National Statistical Administration of China announced that gross domestic product grew by 4.9 percent in the third quarter covering the months of July, August and September. China, whose economic recovery accelerated in the third quarter after the growth course in the second quarter.
