Chinese economy grew by 5 percent despite coronavirus

Economic growth in China accelerated in the third quarter of the year with 4.9 percent compared to the previous quarter, but remained below expectations.

The National Statistical Administration of China announced that gross domestic product grew by 4.9 percent in the third quarter covering the months of July, August and September. China, whose economic recovery accelerated in the third quarter after the growth course in the second quarter.

The Chinese economy affected by the Covid-19 epidemic that emerged in Wuhan, Hubey province at the end of last year and spread to the world. It shrank by 6.8 percent in the first quarter of this year and grew by 3.2 percent in the second quarter.
