Biden’s candidate for Director of National Intelligence Haines receives approval from the Senate

Avril Haines, nominated for the National Intelligence Director (DNI) by President Joe Biden, who took an oath in the USA yesterday, received approval from the Senate.

Washington

While Biden officially started his duty with the oath ceremony held in the USA under intense security measures, the names in his cabinet started to get approval from the Senate.

Haines, nominated by Biden for the National Intelligence Directorate, the umbrella organization of the intelligence organizations in the country, received approval in the voting held at the Senate General Assembly on Wednesday evening at local time.

Haines, who received the yes votes of 84 senators against 10 no votes, became the first name in Biden’s cabinet to receive approval from the Senate.

Haines, who served as the former Vice President of the CIA and Deputy National Security Advisor under former US President Barack Obama, made history as the first woman to take this position.
