According to Scientology records, Pitt completed some therapies in July 1991.
He took a “special course on human evaluation” in May 1993.
Michael Mallen, Pitt’s cult leader, described how he humiliated him and verbally abused him until he left the classroom. Mallen, who spent 40 years there before quitting the sect in 2014, said:
“Brad was doing remedial training routines. Initial training involves sitting in front of someone blindly for a while. You then look at someone else with your eyes open for two hours. Once you pass that, you move on to what is called bullfighting. The coach tries to make the student react by pressing his vein. This is what I did to Brad Pitt. I did this mercilessly by insulting him. His then-girlfriend, Juliette Lewis, was also there. He got so angry that he got out of there and left. Juliette had to save him, he just needed to calm down. I guess nobody had done anything like this to him before. I was being very harsh on him, but that was the main thing, that the person could no longer react. Bringing it to a point where it can be comfortably there. ”
It was stated that Pitt broke his ties with the cult in 1993.
