British swimmer Amy Marren, who initially won a bronze medal at the 2016 Paralympic Games, and British TV actress Melissa Johns, who had no hand with her right forearm, accused the film’s producers of irresponsibility. The International Paralympic Committee also called for a boycott of the film using the “#NotAWitch” tag on social media.
Hundreds of people with anatomical differences are also in the book of Witches written by Roald Dahl, the film was, criticized the producers, stating that there was no difference in the hands of the main character, but that such a detail was added to the film.
