Rustavi 2 television broadcasting in Georgia announced that a person who entered a microfinance organization office in Tbilisi took hostage.

The Georgian Interior Ministry reported that 9 people taken hostage.

Eyewitnesses stated that there were 5 attackers with hand grenades. Tbilisi Police Director Vazha Siradze said, “The police sent to the scene. “According to the information we have obtained, there are 9 hostages and 1 attacker.”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia launched an investigation into the incident under the headings of “robbery” and “illegally carrying weapons”.
